Changing Your Password
You can change the password used for logging into Linear by navigating to User Settings under the Security tab. To change your password, you must first enter your current password and then enter the new password twice (first in the New password field and then in the Confirm password field). You can click on the eye icon to ensure that the password is entered correctly. Finally, click Confirm.
NOTE: After updating your password, we recommend updating the new password in your browser settings or in any other program's "keychain" where you securely store and manage your passwords.
Forgotten Password
If you have forgotten your password, you can also update it by clicking Forgot your password? on the login page. Then, enter your email address (used for logging in) and click CONTINUE. After a short delay, you will receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password.
Login Lockout
If Linear suspects that someone is attempting to breach (log in without authorization) your account, the system will block login attempts. Login is automatically locked after the password has been entered incorrectly 10 times in a row.
If your user account is locked, you can unlock it by clicking Forgot your password? at the login and following the instructions in the email to update your password.
If you still have problems logging in after updating your password, we recommend contacting Linear's customer support.
Frequently Asked Questions About Password Change
I can't open the password change link in the email. What should I do?
- Some email programs may prevent opening links or have settings that disable link opening. You can get the link address by right-clicking on the link and selecting "Copy link". Paste the copied link into your browser's address bar and press Enter to go to the page.
I'm not receiving a new email about the password change. What could be the reason?
- Initially, it's worth waiting a few minutes. The email may not have been sent/received yet.
- With some email programs, consecutive messages from the same sender may go into the same thread and not appear as separate emails. Check the last password change message you received in case the new message has gone into the previous thread.
- It's possible that you have previously opted out of receiving password change messages by clicking a link in the message saying "If you do not want to receive these messages, you can unsubscribe from this email list here". In this case, please contact Linear's customer support, and we will help remove the block.
