Yes — in Linear you can make use of the housing company database, and Linear already includes around 20,000 housing companies. That’s well over one fifth of all housing companies in Finland, and the number is constantly growing.
The decision to enable the feature is made on a brokerage-by-brokerage basis. A manager at the brokerage can enable the housing company database in the company settings. After that, all agents in that brokerage will be able to see all housing companies included in the database.
Note: When enabling the housing company database, remember to also click Save in the bottom-right corner. The housing company database will be available the next day (because the database data and its settings are updated once per night).
The housing company database is shared among all Linear users (for those who have it enabled), so you’ll benefit from other users’ housing company data when you share your own. The database only contains housing company information that is publicly available anyway (e.g. building details and surface finishes, number of residential units and total floor area, etc.). No sensitive information, such as customer data, is stored in the housing company database.
You can search for housing company information in the database by the housing company’s name, address, or Business ID:
If the housing company is found in the database, clicking it will open the Import information view:
- Housing cooperative database value shows the value that was last saved to the database for the field shown on the left.
- The information you filled for the item shows the value you may already have filled in on the property information sheet (this will be empty if you haven’t previously saved any value for the field).
- Using the check mark (✔️), you can choose whether the Housing cooperative database value will be copied to the property information sheet. For example, if you notice that the database value is outdated, you can uncheck it so it won’t be copied and potentially overwrite a value you have previously entered on the property information sheet.
- In the Updated column, you can see when the Housing cooperative database value was last updated.
- By clicking Copy to the Listing Details, you can import the checked housing company database values into the property information sheet data.
Please note that you cannot edit the housing company database values or the listing data you have filled in during the import step. However, after copying the data to the property information sheet, you can edit and update the information there / in the listing details if needed. Always be careful and review the data fetched from the housing company database thoroughly before publishing the listing!
It’s also important to understand when/how the housing company database is updated and when it can be used:
- The housing company database is updated once per night
- The listing must be in status: Sold, For sale, or Reserved for the housing company to be added to the housing company database
- The housing company’s Business ID and address details must be filled in on the property information sheet
- Currently, only Apartments and Holiday homes are supported listing types
- The housing company database is not yet supported for rental listings
