Electronic signatures sent through Linear are made in the Signicat signature service. The document is sent from Linear as a .pdf file to Signicat, so if you had uploaded the document to Linear in .doc or .docx format, the system must first convert it to .pdf.
If you encounter a problem and an error message where converting a .doc or .docx file to .pdf format fails in Linear, the following steps may help fix the situation:
- Remove the problematic document from Linear: You can delete the document from the section where it was uploaded, using the delete icon at the end of the document.
- Resave or convert the document:
- Resaving: Open the document in your word processor (e.g., Word) and save it again. This can fix possible corrupted files or issues.
- Manual conversion: Convert the .doc or .docx file to .pdf format using your word processor's internal conversion function or an external conversion tool.
- Upload the converted .pdf file back to Linear: Once you have successfully converted the file to .pdf format, upload it back to Linear in the appropriate section.
