In Linear, you can set time slots that potential buyers can use to book a private viewing directly from the property's Oikotie listing. The agent defines the available slots on the property card's Showings tab by selecting Add available times.
Adding a new booking time
When adding bookable viewing times in Linear, you’ll need to fill in the following details:
- Presenter – Select the agent who will hold the viewing. The time will be booked from this agent’s calendar.
- Viewing duration – Define how long an individual viewing lasts.
- Time window(s) – Select the date and time range during which private viewings can be scheduled, for example 28 June 2025 from 12:00 to 14:00. You may add multiple time windows at once, giving potential buyers several options to choose from.
Finally, click Save to add the private viewing time slots. The information will be updated to Oikotie after a short delay.
NOTE: Bookable viewing times will not be shown on the Oikotie listing if any of the following conditions apply:
- The viewing time is on the same day the time window is created. This prevents viewings from being created with too short notice, which protects both the agent and the seller.
- The agent has another viewing scheduled at the same time in Linear.
- The viewing time is already booked. For example, if one customer books 28 June 2025 from 13:00 to 13:30, another customer cannot book the same slot.
When you add a private viewing time that can be booked via Oikotie, Linear also creates a preliminary reservation in your calendar. This allows you to see which slots are already preliminarily reserved for private viewings when creating a new event, such as a meeting or another showing.
When a customer books a private viewing you have added to Oikotie, you will receive an email notification from Linear. The email includes key booking details such as the property's address, the name of the person booking, and the scheduled time. More detailed customer contact information will be visible in Linear once the booking has been saved.
Message automations for bookable private viewings
You can activate message automations for viewings booked via Oikotie. Message automations are explained in more detail in this article.
Using message automations is optional; you can manage booked viewing times and any related changes manually if preferred. However, automations are designed to reduce the agent’s workload during busy periods and ensure that all parties stay informed.
The following message types can be enabled in the message automation settings for bookable private viewings:
- Viewing confirmation message to the seller.
- Viewing confirmation message to the prospective tenant.
- Viewing confirmation message to the prospective buyer.
- Viewing confirmation message to the current tenant.
- Viewing cancellation message to the seller.
- Viewing cancellation message to the prospective tenant.
- Viewing cancellation message to the prospective buyer.
- Viewing cancellation message to the current tenant.
- Notifying the parties that the presenting agent has changed.
