Tracking goals as a participant
A participant can monitor their goal progress either from the Goals section or directly on the agent’s Home page.
The Home page provides a compact summary showing whether the goal has been reached, exceeded, or is still in progress. The view also shows how much time remains for achieving the goal.
By clicking a goal, the participant opens a detailed view containing additional information about the goal, including their personal progress history starting from the moment the goal was activated. Selecting "View detailed information" shows even more specific data on performances, such as timestamps for recorded activities.
If the participant has the Goal management permission enabled, they can also edit or delete the goal from this view.
If the goal has the setting Allow participants to view each other’s progress enabled, the participant will also have access to the All progress view. In this view, the participant can see not only their own progress but also the performance of other participants for the same goal.
In the All progress view, the participant can also:
- change the time range for which performances are displayed
- choose whether progress is shown as percentages or absolute numbers by clicking the As percentages or As numbers button.
Tracking goals as company management
A company executive or any user with the Goal management permission enabled can always monitor the progress of the company’s goals in the Goals section. Tracking is done by clicking the desired goal.
If the user monitoring the goal is not themselves a participant, the My progress section will be empty, but all participant progress is visible in the All progress view. This view also allows switching the time range
- from which performances are displayed
- and choosing whether progress is shown as percentages or absolute numbers by clicking the As percentages or As numbers button.
NOTE: Goal tracking in Linear always occurs on a company or office level. If the company has multiple offices (= Linear environments), each office can only track the figures based on its own data.
Goal progress updates automatically at set intervals, meaning the figures are not refreshed in real time. However, you can manually request an immediate update in Linear by clicking the Update progress button found under the goal’s three-dot menu. After this, participant progress is refreshed instantly for the past 12 weeks.
A company executive or any user with the Goal management permission can edit or delete a goal at any time. The editing option is particularly useful, for example, when a new agent joins the company, as they can be added to an existing goal afterward.
